Case study

How GlobeCom built a fleet management platform from brand to GPS integration.

GlobeCom needed a complete digital platform for fleet management - custom web app, mobile apps for ELD compliance, GPS device integration, and full branding from scratch.

The problem

The problem.

GlobeCom operated fleet logistics across multiple regions but lacked a single platform to monitor vehicles, ensure ELD compliance, and give dispatchers real-time visibility.

Off-the-shelf fleet tools did not fit their workflow or branding needs. They required custom dashboards, device integrations, and mobile apps built for their specific operational model.

There was no brand identity tying the product together. Logos, UI patterns, and marketing materials had grown organically without a system.

We were stitching together three tools and two spreadsheets to run one fleet. Dispatchers deserved better.

- Operations Director, GlobeCom
The approach

How we approached it.

We started with brand identity - logo, color palette, typography, and a design system that works on web dashboards, mobile apps, and printed fleet materials.

The web platform was built on Vue.js with a Java backend on AWS. Real-time GPS data flows through a middleware connector supporting Teltonika and iStartek devices.

Native iOS and Android apps handle ELD compliance requirements, giving drivers a reliable tool in the cab while dispatchers monitor from the web dashboard.

Fleet software only works when drivers, dispatchers, and devices all speak the same language.

The build

Under the hood.

For the engineers reading. The platform architecture, device integrations, and mobile stack.

GPS middleware was the critical layer. Rather than hard-coding per vendor, we built a normalizing connector that maps Teltonika and iStartek payloads into one fleet data model the dashboard and apps consume.

Frontend
Vue.js · Real-time dashboards · Fleet map views
Backend
Java · REST APIs · GPS middleware · AWS hosting
Mobile
iOS · Android · ELD compliance · Offline-capable sync
Integrations
Teltonika · iStartek · Device-agnostic data pipeline
The results

What changed.

GPS device types

Dispatchers monitor fleet status in real time from a single web dashboard.

Drivers use native mobile apps built for ELD compliance on iOS and Android.

GPS middleware supports multiple device vendors without custom code per integration.

One dashboard, one brand, one source of truth for where every vehicle is and whether we are compliant.

- Operations Director, GlobeCom

Platform maintenance and GPS integration updates continued under a twelve-month support agreement.
